The dirrector of the film had just finished Arrivederci Baby (also with Anna Quayle the Baroness) where each sexy hot wife is killed for money while the husband shows no interest in their beauty. Maybe there was a need for Ken Hughes to continue some of the scenes into this movie?

Weel whatever the reason..Anna dressed in a tight curvy corset with long braids and stockings continues to wow me to this day…Would have felt myself luk to spend time that close to here dressed the way she is..what a women!!

Likewise with the Baron thing. Maybe it’s ribbing on the whole ‘Red Baron’ notion, but then I believe it would have made some allusions to that if so. Also, ‘Baron’ is a very minor rank in the German peerage system. It still doesn’t add up (outside my thesis IMO) as to “why Baron”.

I guess Anna got the role through Casino Royale, she was in that movie..and killed there.
Then again Ken Hughes also directed
Arrivederci Baby, a movie full of attractive sexy women being killed for there money including Anna Quayle in a very flirtatous, older women young boy way..she is electrocuted by the boy after she has a older man love interest. Therefore it appears that the chitty scene had been building through the director and producer and Anna herself over a few movies.

But still I remain, that dressed as she was in ccbb, flowing braids,corset, lacey mini etc and the way she was alway lovey to her man, I would have been very happy and contented with the birthday present she was offering in her bedroom before his party..thoughts of cutting off her head or impaling her would not be my intentions

Ken Hughes directed the (abysmal) David Niven Casino Royale the year before, but I don’t think he did any other Bond films.
Your idea that he is responsible for the S&M is a possibility, but it still doesn’t explain _why_ it is there. “I directed Casino Royale (which I think has no S&M), so I want it in this kids’ film” just doesn’t wash in my opinion.

I still haven’t read the CCBB book, but I got a friend of mine to read & report on it on my behalf -and what she said of it bears little or no resemblance to the film. There’s no S&M in it either.

but whatever, The film was directed by a bond director, I would imagine, with the knowledge that it was written by Ian Fleming, he felt that an S&M killing scene should be part of the movie.
my God just look at this women (the Baroness) she’s hot sexy and wonderful to her hubby, and for all this he wants her dead, and dead in the creulest ways he can.

The baron is extremely childish, maybe to the point of having no idea waht to do with a sexy adult women?
But whatever..it remains about the most erotic kid’s movie scene of all times!!
